Out & About
Beach Life
From park to dune is a five minute amble on a footpath leading direct to Black Rock Sands, a huge expanse of sandy beach encircled by a vast panorama. Once on the beach a 360° revelation rewards visitors with the rolling green hills of Harlech across the estuary, the rocky headlands of Black Rock and Criccieth along the beach, and the dramatic mountains of Snowdonia fringing the shoreline; an inspirational landscape within minutes of Garreg Goch..
Wildlife
Criccieth Castle provides a stunning backdrop to local beaches, standing on a rocky peninsula overlooking Tremadog Bay. Warmed by the Gulf Stream, the temperate waters here are home to dolphins, turtles and porpoises, whilst the rock pools, golden sands and shallows are a haven for children to play in.
Explore Coast Life
Between Caernarfon and Porthmadog, is some of the most spectacular scenery on the North Welsh coast, best experienced on the 146km Llyn Coastal Path but also easily accessible by train from Porthmadog, or bus which stops near the park.
Great By Sail and Rail Life
Porthmadog is another local treasure, its’ harbour a gateway to sailing in the calm waters of the estuary or to venturing out by boat to the exhilarating open expanses of the Irish Sea. Two heritage steam railways, a beautiful marina, shops and a leisure centre make Porthmadog special with the famously beautiful Italianate village of Portmeirion just a short car, cycle or steam train ride away.
Live it all again
With its’ fabulous location, immaculate facilities and friendly on-site wardens, Garreg Goch Caravan Park has the kind of appeal which makes visitors want to return again and again to relive the magic of a memorable holiday.
