One of the unique things about this race is that the competitors travel to the start line via the historic Ffestiniog Railway. The journey takes approximately 1 hour and boasts wonderful scenery the whole way.
If numbers allow, the railway will put on additional carriages for friends and family to follow the route. The steam train stops at the feed stations, providing ample opportunity to cheer on competitors and snap some photos mid-race.
The race culminates on the station platform in Porthmadog. The pretty town is the perfect place to enjoy a post-race pint!
