Here are a few exciting things to keep the family entertained in the wetter weather

Welsh Mountain Zoo

Venue type: Indoor and Outdoor

In Colwyn Bay, on the north coast of Wales overlooking the Irish Sea is the Welsh Mountain Zoo.

The National Zoo of Wales is an education and conservation charity, home to a wide range of rare and endangered animals, from brown bears to sea lions, red-faced spiders to snow leopards. The gardens around the zoo are awash with tropical and local plants.

For children who want to practice their Tarzan antics, there’s the jungle adventure land suitable for all ages and the Tarzan trail! Stop for a snack on The Safari Restaurant balcony, which overlooks the tiger enclosure or, if you prefer, try The Penguin Café and dine with your flippered friends instead!

A really wild adventure in the Welsh mountains!

The 8 huge round towers give the castle) an intimidating presence undimmed by the passage of time and brilliantly backdropped by Snowdonia behind fabulous territory for taking some family photos! There’s loads of room outside for the kids to run about and let out the fizz and imagination they’ve to build up exploring this gorgeous ruin. Also, it’s well worth noting that Conwy railway station is right next door to the castle, so you can leave the motor at home and have an even larger adventure with a little jaunt on the railway there and back. We’re talking a heck of a day for munchkins: fun, educational and adventurous!
