Pwllheli and LLanystumdwy

Pwhelli is a short, scenic drive up the coast North of Garreg Goch Holiday Park and offers a great deal of opportunity for new experiences for all the family. The journey passes through the beautiful village of LLanystumdwy where there is a beautiful river walk at the burial place of the former Prime Minister Lloyd George. There is also a Museum here honouring the famous politician who grew up in this tiny, but very beautiful village.

The town itself has a huge array of shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants. From the harbour, visitors can go on boat trips around the bay to enjoy distant views of Ireland, Anglesey, the Isle of Man or a closer look at the flora and fauna on Bardsey Island as well as fishing and wildlife trips. Dolphins and porpoises are regularly seen from these shores and there are some stunning local beaches to explore from here too.

A few miles away from Pwhelli, the beaches and coastal walks around nearby Llannbedrog are unspoiled, providing miles of golden sand, rocky headlands, caves and sheltered bays. Boasting a  mile long stretch of sand, Llanbedrog is a favourite for fans of kite-surfing and windsurfing. It is a picturesque spot for a day out with its’ row of brightly painted National Trust Beach Huts, cafe and headland. At Nefyn, further north, there’s beautiful beaches and a wealth of Welsh Culture and Heritage in this former quarrying village.
